Our ministries are an important and integral part of our church community. Whether you are single or married there is a ministry designed for you. Please read about our ministries and consider becoming an active member of our church family.
Latta Prayer Garden
Dedicated in 2009, the Latta Prayer Garden is open daily to everyone and is a beautiful outdoor area suitable for prayer and worship. This garden includes permanent sidewalks appropriate for wheelchairs and plenty of garden benches to allow for comfortable conversation and for prayer. Area residents often use this garden as a meaningful stop on their daily walk. For so many it is comforting to know that this garden of prayer is available to them when they are seeking the presence of God.
Over 60’s Adult Fellowship The Over 60’s Fellowship ministry meets September through May on the last Tuesday of the month. This is a community wide event for citizens in Christiana and the surrounding area. Each gathering includes a brief program and a light lunch. We welcome everyone at 11:00 a.m. and we are all headed for home by 1:00 p.m. Our programming has included such varied topics as ship wreck archeology, the history of postcard collecting, covered bridges of Pennsylvania as well as informative talks on tax tips for the senior citizens and health and nutrition.
Prayer Shawl Ministry Group This ministry of compassion and care links our church members to those persons who are currently experiencing serious illness, personal loss or other crises in life. We welcome those people who enjoy knitting or crocheting and want to be a part of this care-giving ministry. We currently create the following items: prayer shawls, baby blankets and hats for newborns at local hospitals, chemo caps for distribution at area cancer treatment centers, lap robes for use at local care facilities and children’s sweaters that are shipped for overseas needs. Our knitting ministry meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 11:00 a.m. Plan on bringing a bag lunch to break bread and fellowship with your ministry co-workers.
Please contact us if you have any questions about our ministries or would like to know about other opportunities to serve our community that may not be listed here.
